Guarantee & Refund Policy

Eastfork Nursery guarantees your maples will arrive in good condition within FedEx Shipping Zones that do not exceed 3 days. I can no longer guarantee my maples will arrive in good condition outside of a 3-day time period. Especially for those of you living on the East Coast, Northeast and Southeast you must pay for 3-day FedEx Express shipping if you would like the maples to be guaranteed. 

Eastfork Nursery is not responsible for damaged maples that do not adhere to this policy. This policy change is effective May 1, 2021. If a maple is damaged during transit or arrives dead and all procedures were in compliance with this policy  – then Eastfork Nursery may replace the maple(s) or refund the money for the maple(s) less shipping charges. The Buyer pays for one-half the cost of shipping a replacement. I guarantee my maples are healthy and true to name at the time of shipment. Shipping charges are non-refundable. 

I realize that careful consideration and time is involved in the choice of your Japanese Maples. I guarantee my maples will grow the initial season. If maples are shipped in the spring the first season is the end of fall. The exception to this timeline is that problems with deliveries in the fall will be handled on a case-by-case basis. My policy is not to ship during the winter months when the maples are dormant, but there are possible exceptions.

I cannot be responsible for extreme weather created by climate change. This includes Cyclone Bombs and spring freezes and thaws that kill many maples. If a maple fails to thrive the next spring a discount will be offered for a replacement maple. The amount of the discount will be determined by Eastfork Nursery. Shipping charges for the replacement maple are the responsibility of the buyer. Please see Shipping Policy.

I have a secure website and secure home operation for credit cards. Credit card information including account numbers does not reside on my server or my PC. I use PayPal for credit card processing on my website and a third-party provider for credit card orders received over the phone.

Refunds – If you request a refund from a website purchase before the maple is shipped please be aware that a service fee will apply. PayPal has changed their refund policy as follows:

“If you [Eastfork Nursery] refund a payment for goods or services, there are no fees to make the refund, but the fees you originally paid as the seller are not returned to you. The amount of the refunded payment will be deducted from your PayPal account.”

This means that as the seller – Eastfork Nursery will lose the amount deducted by PayPal. I am not in business to lose money with a cancellation. I would like to sue PayPal, but as a small business that is not reality. So I will have to deduct double the amount of the PayPal fee from your original payment. PayPal keeps their fee and I keep the same amount so I don’t lose money with the refund. I know this isn’t fair, but it is what is right now.
